Buchanan High neighborhood is located in Clovis and consists of the areas immediately surrounding Buchanan High School. It includes the areas in between Teague Avenue and Alluvial Avenue from Willow Avenue and Fallbrook Avenue to Clovis Avenue. Real Estate

The real estate prices in the Buchanan High neighborhood vary depending on whether you buy in the northern part or the southern part. The northern part mainly consists of Lennar homes which tend to be a little more expensive. While most of the homes in this area range from high $300k to $500k there are some homes available around $200k. Even though most of the homes are a little more pricey, they are a good investment. More than half of the homes built in the area were built after 1999, so you are less likely to run into many of the problems you would see with an older home. Many of the neighborhoods are gated communities which are highly desirable for people who are raising families.

Safety

Most of the crimes in this area consist of vehicle burglaries, fraud, and vandalism. While no one wants to be a victim of a crime, these crimes are preferable to violent crimes. Since a lot of the communities are gated, it lowers the crime rate for this area.

Great Schools

The Buchanan High neighborhood is within Clovis Unified School District boundaries. Elementary age students would either attend Woods Elementary or Garfield Elementary. They would then go on to Alta Sierra Intermediate and Buchanan High School. Buchanan High received a silver medal in the national rankings system by US News.

Things To Do

The Buchanan High neighborhood has a lot of great restaurants nearby including Neighbors Tap and Cook House, Groggs Traditional Irish Pub, The Point, and Wassabi on Fire. There is grocery shopping nearby at Trader Joes’s and CVS Pharmacy right next to that. This neighborhood is also located close to the 168 freeway, which leads up to Shaver Lake, Huntington Lake, and Mono Hot Springs or making it easy to get to downtown Fresno. Old Town Clovis is just down the street with all kinds of restaurants, farmers markets, and antique shops.
