Fresno has a bad reputation for crime. But there are parts of Fresno that are worse than others and there are parts that aren’t bad at all. So here is a list of the safest neighborhoods in Fresno.

North Growth Area

The North Growth area is located in the North Friant area and around Copper River. The total crimes are 57% less than Fresno as a whole. The North Growth area is a great place to live in Fresno. It’s close to lots of great walking and biking trails.

Woodward Park

Woodward Park includes the neighborhoods surrounding Woodward Park. The total crimes are 48% less than Fresno as a whole. Woodward Park itself is a large and popular park, home to an authentic Japanese Garden, disk golf course, hiking trails, as well as occasional concerts and “Shakespeare in the Park” performances. The Woodward Park neighborhood is ranked the best place to live in Fresno according to Area Vibes. With good schools and plenty of access to grocery stores and great restaurants it’s easy to see why it’s one of the most sought-after neighborhoods to live in in the city.

South Growth Area

The South Growth area is one of the safest places to live in Fresno. The total crimes are 99% less than Fresno as a whole. It’s also more affordable than the North Growth area and Woodward Park.
